The Future Earth Africa hub, supported by the National Research Foundation (NRF) is pleased to announce that it will be hosting a Satellite Event as part of the Sustainability Research and Innovation Congress, being held in collaboration with Sustainability Science Days (SRI/SSD2024). The SRI/SSD2024 satellite events are live hybrid engagements that take place across the globe, creating an inclusive, round-the-clock interactive program connected with the SRI/SSD2024 congress in Finland.
The Africa Hub will host local-to-regional sessions with a regional to a global audience to explore action-forward approaches to sustainability research and innovation and integrate these insights into the SRI/SSD2024 Congress program. Creating connection points and opportunities for in-person participation outside of the central Congress location will deepen SRI’s global perspective and make the Congress accessible to a broader audience around the world.
The SRI/SSD2024 Africa satellite event will be held as a hybrid event as part of the central Congress being held in Helsinki and Espoo, Finland, on 10 – 14 June 2024. The Africa Satellite Event will provide an opportunity to engage on Africa sustainability issues, opportunities, and solutions, and provide a platform for engagement and collaboration, and create opportunities for early researchers, established researchers, research managers, policymakers, and industry experts to share their ideas, relevant knowledge, and information in order to strengthen the next generation of researchers in Africa.
Anyone in sustainability science, global/climate change, healthy & inclusive communities, early-career researchers, policymakers, students, and civil society are invited to register and participate in the event.
When: 28-31 May 2024
