SRI2023 will open its doors to the local audience on 28 June for an Open Day at the Panama Convention Center with activities at the Technical University of Panama and the Punta Culebra Nature Center of the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute. Open Day will be free to participate in and is aimed at celebrating local sustainability efforts and innovation, increase public awareness of sustainability challenges and solutions, and build new connections between research and action.

We are inviting submissions for activities from local civil society groups, and organizations, enterprises and educational institutions to submit activities to the Open Day program.
We are looking for activities, such as:
- Showcases and exhibitions by local sustainability organizations (e.g. citizen science, recycling, community gardening, energy use, product repair, etc.)
- Exhibitions by local companies and producers
- Project presentations from local schools and universities
- Sustainability games
- Stakeholder roundtables on sustainability issues critical to Panama and the Latin America and the Caribbean region
The deadline to submit a proposal for Open Day activities is 1 May.
